Technical Review Committee

The MAH Technical Review Committee (TRC) is now accepting submissions for review of an analytical tool, dashboard, or mathematical or statistical model that could strengthen evidence available for measles or rubella programmatic decision-making.

Eligibility

We welcome applications from groups at different stages of the model/tool implementation process. For example, applications could include a working tool that has yet to be applied to a specific problem, or a mature model/tool that has already been used for programme adoption or implementation.

 

Applications must contain a model or tool that is working and ready for technical review (i.e., please do not submit applications with plans for tool creation, which does not yet exist); applications must be able to be judged on the criteria explicitly outlined below.

Applications are welcomed from individuals and organisations regardless of where they are based, academic qualifications, publication record, career stage, disciplinary background, or access to computing infrastructure. However, submitted models and tools should address policy-relevant questions in high measles burden settings or demonstrate clear potential for application in such contexts.

Submissions will be assessed across 8 areas:

1. Geographic relevance and applicability

2. Outcomes and policy relevance

3. Data inputs and evidence base

4. Model calibration and validation

5. Uncertainty, sensitivity analysis and robustness

6. Model assumptions and epidemiological validity

7. Documentation and transparency

8. Reproducibility and technical quality

How to submit

• Send an expression of interest to the MAH Secretariat at vimc-mah@imperial.ac.uk with a brief description of the tool/model developed (1 sentence) and contact information for the development team. Please note that an expression of interest does not guarantee a review.

• Invited reviews will then receive a unique link to upload:

  • Your model documentation addressing the 8 review areas. This could be in the form of a vignette, white paper, or detailed methods section of a manuscript.

  • Model/tool source code or link to public repository (where possible- do not share any sensitive code or data). 

  • Up to three examples of publications or reports where this model/tool has been described and/or used.

  • Brief description of policy outcomes or intended applications of this model/tool to date.

• Submitted materials will be treated as confidential during the review process and will not be made publicly available without the applicant’s agreement.

Timeline & process

• Submission deadline: 14 October 2026

• Feedback from the review committee can be expected by the end of Q4 2026.

• Following the initial review, applicants will have an opportunity to respond to reviewer feedback before the committee issues its final summary.
